ASA 101 Keel Boat 1 course and examinations.

Become able to skipper a sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 to 27 feet in length by day in light to moderate winds and sea conditions. Auxiliary power operation is not required. Gain knowledge of basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards.

Who is ASA 101 for? 

These two day sailing lessons are designed for students who have either never sailed, or have been on the water and are ready to learn more. It is the perfect first step towards becoming a competent sailor.

18 years old or more. No other ASA courses required.

The ASA system has eight primary levels of student certification from Basic Keelboat all the way to Offshore Passage making. Whether your goal is to skipper a bareboat charter in the Caribbean or to crew confidently on a short weekend sail, the ASA’s sailing-education system will guide you as you learn the theory behind sailing, practice the skills needed to handle a sailboat, and build the foundation of knowledge that will enable you to navigate a vessel safely and within the law.

3 to 4 hours in a classroom; 12 hours on-the-water hands-on instruction.

LESSON SCHEDULE
Saturday and Sunday, consecutive days: 9:00am to 5:00pm each day.

Participant Cancellations

  • Full Refunds: Cancellations made at least 14 days (2 weeks) before the scheduled class or session will receive a full refund.
  • Rescheduling: Participants can reschedule their session up to 7 days (1 week) before their scheduled class without penalty. After this point, rescheduling may not be possible.
  • Late Cancellations: Cancellations made less than 14 days before the class will not be eligible for a refund unless exceptional circumstances apply, as determined at our discretion.

InFlow Adventure Co. Cancellations

  • Weather or Other Unforeseen Issues: If we need to cancel a session for any reason, such as adverse weather conditions or other operational factors, participants will receive a full refund. We will also provide suggestions for alternative dates to reschedule.

How to Cancel or Reschedule

  • To cancel or reschedule, please contact us via email or phone with your booking details.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7 business days of the cancellation request being approved.

Additional Notes

  • Refunds are processed back to the original payment method.
  • Participants are responsible for ensuring they meet any prerequisites for their chosen program. Failure to meet prerequisites does not qualify for a refund if the session cannot proceed.
  • In the event of a rescheduled session, all efforts will be made to accommodate the participant’s preferred date, subject to availability.
